History

Age of Inception (2016)

BonziWORLD was first launched on August 22, 2016 by a man named Joseph Judge (a.k.a. jojudge or heyjoeway), under the domain bonziworld.com. During these very early days of BonziWORLD, the community mostly consisted of Vinesauce fans (Vinesauce was the one to revive the BonziBUDDY meme in 2014/2015); and there wasn't as much autism on the site as there is now. BonziWORLD was also very dead a lot of the time because of how unpopular it was in comparison to other meme chatting clients. However, this did not last for long.

Kiddie Invasion

Around late 2016, a notorious Portuguese logosperg by the name of Diogo Miguel Barros Mendes waddled his way into BonziWORLD and immediately started making YouTube videos about it and sharing the link with his buddies; soon enough bringing a lot of autistic logo kids to BonziWORLD and by extension other sperglets with ties to logo kids such as GoFags and objectfags. This caused a demographic shift that some label as the "cancer that is killing BonziWORLD", and irreversibly turned BonziWORLD into a circlejerk for 10-year-old kids obsessed with Battle for Dream Island and GoAnimate to spam their fugly logoslop. A lot of the older community leaves due to this, some stay.

Classic BonziWORLD Era (2017-July 2019)

Early (Early 2017-Mid 2017)

Defined by the initial mess and clusterfuck on the website, Early Classic BonziWORLD was characterized by its lack of celebrities, except for Diogo. This period has been credited for the start of trends still popular on BW today, such as "BonziWORLD Reacts to...", autistically announcing your mute ("MUTED!!!!!!!!"), "Behh" spam, "oi" spam that was lost to time etc.

Middle (Mid 2017-Mid 2018)

Peak of classic BonziWORLD. Defined by the formation of a more coherent community. The names and infamous personalities mostly established, a lot of BonziWORLD veterans joined during this period. Probably the most coherent era in general due to its stability. The community was still very autistic though; seeing a grounded video made with fucking BonziWORLD of all things was not uncommon.

Late (Late 2018-July 2019)

Also known as BonziWORLD's downfall. It's during that time when skids stumbled upon BW and realized how easy it was to make spambots of it; and is also when the infamous Losky Virus was shat out and Danielius Paulavicius (a.k.a. Onute/Jabba Saulute) first became relevant. The usual autistic grounding spam got quickly replaced by even more autistic botted spam, making the site unusable for 2/3 of the day. BonziWORLD also saw floods, which were inneffective since the public rooms had a user limit of 8.

The Shutdown (July 2019-2021)

After almost 3 years of being the best worst BonziBUDDY meme site in existence, Joseph Judge shut down the original BonziWORLD on July 10, 2019 due to him running out of time to maintain the site (however there is a possibility jojudge actually shut down BonziWORLD due to all the skids). This actually made the underage BFDI spergs addicted to the purple monkey chat site make a million YouTube videos of them raging to BonziWORLD's shutdown; but (un)fortunately this wasn't the end of BonziWORLD. Not long after, an individual by the name of BagelChip took advantage of BonziWORLD being open-source and put up his own instance of BonziWORLD at bonzi.dega.io. Word about the new BonziWORLD revival spread like wildfire among the remains of the community; and by August everyone knew about bonzi.dega.io.

The Scramble for BonziWORLD (Late 2019-2020)

Unsurprisingly, bonzi.dega.io was a frequent target for skids just like the original BonziWORLD in its later days. Eventually the skid problem on bonzi.dega.io reached a boiling point when then-nobody SeamusMario 55 began injecting his Losky Virus all over bonzi.dega.io; raping the shit out of the site. This got BagelChip to shut down bonzi.dega.io in October 2019 while he tried patching all the exploits. Seamus then took advantage of bonzi.dega.io's shutdown and launched BonziWORLD Revived (a.k.a. BWR) not long after on the 7th of October.

For about two months, BWR remained the most popular server and Seamus effectively ruled BonziWORLD with an iron fist; kicking or banning anyone that even disagreed with him. While Seamus' iron fist rule resulted in a lot of rage videos among kiddies (some of them being unintentionally funny, such as this one), the popular opinion (and an open secret among BWR's userbase) was that Seamus' moderation sucked ass. Everyone hoped an alternative to BWR would show up; and it eventually did.

Around December 21, 2019, BagelChip brought back bonzi.dega.io under the domain bonzi.world; and a new BonziWORLD server (fittingly titled New! BonziWORLD) was launched at uranohoshi.in. While New! BonziWORLD was bloated as fuck with a million Mario recolors, it became very popular thanks to Seamus' love for the banhammer. Seamus could not accept losing his userbase and not long after began raping the shit out of New! BonziWORLD until he got it to shut down. While raping uranohoshi.in, one of the things he constantly accused of the owner of doing was "stealing" his "assets", despite having himself stolen like half of BWR's code. Seamus' victory against New! BonziWORLD, however, was short-lived, as everyone moved to bonzi.world.

Around March of 2020, BagelChip added the modern UI to bonzi.world; which obviously clashes a lot with the original Windows XP design of BonziWORLD. BagelChip then put up a "classic" version of bonzi.world at classic.bonzi.world; which removes a lot of the features he added to the site such as the modern UI. While bonzi.world was moderated like once a week, classic.bonzi.world was almost never moderated; resulting in it becoming a battleground of autistic children shitting out grounded threats and skids injecting behh floodscripts. Nonetheless classic.bonzi.world eventually overtook the original bonzi.world in popularity.

Common Era (2021-Present)

This is the era that many would call "modern BonziWORLD". Most of the relevant people and servers are well established from having formed during the Scramble.

First Stable Period (2021-May 2022)

Bonzi.world became the biggest server, surprisingly despite the attempts of Seamus to sabotage it. Erik's server was shutdown during this period. Since this period was stable, there's not many things to mention.

The Great Repression Period (May 2022-Late 2022)

bonzi.world was shut down on May 20, 2022 along with its Discord server and classic.bonzi.world. Some of (classic.)bonzi.world's former userbase moved to Seamus' trainwreck; while others moved to server.erik.red:3000. The latter was effectively the continuation of classic.bonzi.world with autistic children and skids everywhere. server.erik.red:3000 was eventually shut down after only 3 months; resulting in everyone moving to Seamus' dump and him becoming the dictator of BonziWORLD for the second time.

The great repression was marked by Seamus' rise to power after the shut down of Bonzi.world. Similar to Stalinization, the best admins were repressed and eventually quit. The period also marked the start of co-operation between Fune and Seamus, creation of bonzi.ga which would be abandoned but documented on "Server Lists". Server lists attempted to catalogue the live BW servers, though they failed due to the quickly changing unstable community during this period. It paved the path to the great war due to the community's growing discontent.

The Great War (October 2022-December 2023)

The Great War was a more-than-one-year-long internet sissy fight between Fune (the owner of bonzi.ga/bonzi.lol/bonziworld.org) and Seamus Cremeens (the owner of BonziWORLD Revived/Community Edition). It started in October but the fate was effectively sealed by December, when bonzi.ga overtook BWR in average user count. The war continued in one way or another as each side would DDoS or spam all over each other. Toxing was also used as a weapon; though mostly by Seamus' side. The end of the war finally came in late December 2023 as Fune called Seamus' mom; with her eventually forcing her son to shut down BWR for good.

Bonzi.ga's rise to power

This lasted for about 2 months and was a series of decisive blows against BWR, where many users migrated to BonziWORLD.org. The uncovering of Seamus' actions also caused many of his friends to leave him. By the end of this period, bonzi.ga was cementing its position as the main BonziWORLD server.

Destruction of BWR

After bonzi.ga returned as bonzi.lol, it took a few days to stabilize. Then, BWR was counter-attacked with dozens of scripts and tools made by Fune. This resulted in a temporary shutdown of BWR. Cosmic founded AWFOB as a last ditch effort to destroy Fune, though it did nothing. Notably he tried to groom a 13 year old girl, which Seamus loves to defend. Bonzi.lol suffered ddos attacks from JY and Seamus after, causing it to use cloudflare. It eventually migrated to bonziworld.org. After a while of exchanging paragraphs and Seamus milking himself, BWR was shut down by his mother and BonziWORLD entered an era of Peace.

Era of Peace & Prosperity (January 2024-Present)

Due to the shutdown of BWR, the BonziWORLD community could turn away from war. In the 2 and a half months of Peace, BonziWORLD 7 was released, Warsaw found new allies, FunyPlace was created, and FunyChat V7 is going to be released. Notably, IP leaking features were removed from BonziWORLD.org as there is no need for them without the constant attacks of BWR. Despite the attempts of the losing-side of the war to sabotage the community, it is still prospering without the influence of the obese Irish dictator.
